Vadim Bezkrovnij has agreed to create Southwestern College's first symphonic chamber orchestra, but there are strings attached. Lots of strings. A whole section of them. A world-class violinist himself, Bezkrovnij began working at SWC in 2005, by resurrecting the string class and founding SWC's first string quartet.

SWC students, employees speak out about reorganization

Five Southwestern College employees were laid off at the April governing board meeting as part of a structural reorganization announced by Superintendent Dr. Raj K. Chopra. Chopra eliminated positions, reassigned several employees and combined two schools among other changes.

Faculty votes No Confidence in Chopra

After slapping the president with a stern warning last year, the faculty of Southwestern College has overwhelmingly voted No Confidence in Superintendent Dr. Raj K. Chopra after he allegedly left them out of the loop on a plan that reorganized the college.
